I’m often asked the same kinds of questions from photographers, so I thought it might be helpful to compile a few informational tutorials filled with tips to answer some of your questions. You can also view this list of articles in the sidebar of my blog. Thanks for reading!

Emilie - Hi Amy! Question for you- do you offer mentoring services? I am a self-taught photographer and love your work! I live in Wisconsin (Oshkosh area).
amywenzel - Hi Sherry – I might recommend upgrading your camera first. The 50 1.4 is a nice lens and the camera will make a big difference in the quality of your images!
Sherry - I’m a hobbiest and had a quick question about upgrading. I mainly use a Canon 60D and 50mm 1.4 lens. I’m considering upgrading to the Mark II or III or upgrading my lens to the 50mm 1.2L. I likely will eventually upgrade everything, but can’t afford to do so yet. Do you recommend upgrading the camera or lens first? I mainly take portraits of my kids and of my friends’ kids for free.
